Mind Reader or a Magician !

We marketers are nothing but just a mind reader. The more is the analytical ability the more is to become a successful marketer. We are magician's too. We make people see a brand what we want it to be seen as. There are many examples.Not repeating. Just for my young readers - "Its not Dove its Love".

I hope by now we have understood the power of hypnotism.Yes we all try to do this in real life and call in our dictionary as "brand positioning".The more is the dose of hypnotism the more is the everlasting effect of successful brand.So in short we marketers are the "Mind readers" combined with "magicians skills".

But we fail miserably too often.Many of us fail.I believe we often do not read well or are over confident of the skill of hypnotism. We make plans, strategies , PPT's , and hundreds of them, sometime just to impress our seniors.We forget that our consumer will never catch us.They are sleeping.The dose is working.
They will remain hypnotised for life! Its a myth.

They all wake up and throw us from the windows.Our plans. Our products. Our brands.Resulting Crores of marketing budgets loss. Zero effective results.P&L gets badly hit too. The COCA ( cost of customer acquisitions) shows higher graphs ! Sometime the marketers are not to be blamed some other guys takes the shots ( as if every body is a born marketers.... aah! ) by their sheer power of authority.This do not make our customers sleep quietly.They are ruthless. The products get rejected.Falls like a card castle. Boom ! Gone.

I suggest that we marketers should remain close to our customers,interact with them know their dream,agony,pain....and then make a marketing plan, accordingly. We should respect them. If we were really magicians then it would have been a different story.We are not.To be a real mind reader we have to go close to them.How many of us do that ? I am not sure. We all pretend to be close to them but actually stay quietly in our corporate board rooms and never leaves them.

The title of a mind reader or just a magicaian goes in the hand of the consumers to decide.To take back or gift to our breed of Intellectual people known as - Marketers !
